Research Interests

Dr. Shao's research interests are molecular mechanisms of Epstein-Barr virus associated gastric carcinoma (EBVaGC) genesis and development. The lab aims to determine the mechanisms by which Epstein-Barr virus infects human epithelial cells, and use the nucleic acid technology to sequence the DNA of the Epstein-Barr virus in EBVaGC. Another interesting subject is the molecular pathology of gastric carcinoma, especially molecular classification of the gastric carcinoma.

Up to now, the lab has got five grants supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and twelve Provincial and Ministerial funds.
